New Project - Golden Memories
Project ~ Golden Memories
We are collecting broken and unwanted gold jewelry to raise much needed funds for our cancer camps. Gold is selling at a great price right now and we have been in contact with a gold dealer who will give us an honest rate on 10, 14, 18 and 24 carat gold. Please help save our programs by looking through your jewelry box and find old broken or unwanted jewelry that you can donate. Check with your co workers, friends, family and fellow students. Every little bit counts......you might not have enough to turn in but if we can get everyone to donated a broken chain, bracelet or ring (that they no longer can use or want) we can make this ' Golden Memories' project work.
Last year we hosted over 1500 participants at our day outings, evening programs and overnight camps. Many have written to us to share how attending one (or more) of our programs created the only good memories that they would have from their cancer experience. Help us keep creating golden memories.
In 2008 we developed two new programs: the Adult Sickle Cell Retreat and the Teen Cancer Camp. You can see that even when donations are drying up the need for our free programs continues to grow.
Please forward this request to your service organizations, church and school groups. Project Golden Memories is an easy, painless way to raise much needed funds to keep our programs running without interruption. Asking for donations is very hard for most of us, my self included, but the truth is there are items that we have to pay for just like any other business....phone bills, ink, paper, postage, camp rental, catering, commercial buses etc. Asking for broken and unwanted jewelry has got to be the easiest fundraiser I can think of. Please make this a personal project and really get behind it.
All you have to do is mail (or drop off) your unwanted gold to:
